On Sunday 20 March the Movies that Matter Festival in Den Haag will be screening the groundbreaking documentary film ‘The True Cost’ – a must see for everyone who is interested in fashion and the industry ‘hiding’ behind the pretty pictures!
Afterwards Charlie + Mary’s agency and The Refugee Company will be showing the latest True Fashion collections on the catwalk in the foyer of the theatre aan het Spui in The Hague.
The L’Herbe Rouge collection for Fall/Winter 2016-2017 ‘to the other shore’ was inspired by lakes, bays, natural streams and oceans. The effect on human wellbeing of these natural resources is enormous; travels, bathing, cures but also drinking water reservoirs. L’Herbe Rouge translated this inspiration in a collection with beautiful fabric structures (from smooth organic cotton to chunky knits made of recycled yarns) and a colour palette inspired by these water reservoirs and it’s shores.
Setting an example for the fashion industry in regards to fabrics choices and manufacturing processes L’Herbe Rouge helps to protect large amounts of fresh water.
24 + 25 January we were at MINT fair @ Modefabriek, where we proudly represented Hoodlamb FW16.
Some of you we saw at our stand and it was great to see you there!
We also attended the press event where 5 inspiring speakers shared their knowledge, thoughts and hopes on a fashion industry that is moving forward….
Marieke Eyskoot (co-founder of MINT) shared some hopeful figures, Andrew Morgan (director of The True Cost) challenged everyone to become a storyteller for a better fashion industry, British model Rebecca Pearson stole the show in a stunning long black People Tree dress and the chief editor of Glamour magazine announced that at least 10% of the content of the magazine will be about sustainable fashion & lifestyle from now on. This makes Glamour the first magazine to set a quotum for sustainable fashion & lifestyle.

Winter is coming, but there is no time for hibernation at Charlie+Mary’s agency! While we have been following up deliveries arriving in stores for the current season, we also gave brands feedback on the SS16 collection before it goes into production. A careful evaluation of each piece, especially regarding sizing and fitting as well as all the comments that we have collected from buyers are passed on to the designers, so they can incorporate it where possible.
