Winter is coming, but there is no time for hibernation at Charlie+Mary’s agency!  While we have been following up deliveries arriving in stores for the current season, we also gave brands feedback on the SS16 collection before it goes into production.  A careful evaluation of each piece, especially regarding sizing and fitting as well as all the comments that we have collected from buyers are passed on to the designers, so they can incorporate it where possible.

Furthermore we have been in full preparation for High Summer ’16 sales which is starting now. The tropical heat our showroom gets when we are unpacking and steaming each and every piece from the latest WunderWerk additions, let us forget about falling temperatures outside. Salesbooks are being prepared, Photoshoots for the invitations set up and appointments made, the agency is humming and buzzing like a beehive.

In the beginning of October the agency team took a trip to London to the People Tree headquarters for some meetings for feedback on the collections, to preview the FW 16-17 collections and hear everything about new cooperations like the one with Jo Wood. The collection looks amazing and we can’t wait to show you everything during the People Tree pre-order season, which starts 16 November!

During this time a year we also wrap ourselves in the amazingly warm Hoodlamb Parkas and travel through the Benelux to see what’s going on in the overall fashion scene and visit the shops we work with. We follow up on sales, get further feedback and give presentations about the pieces that are arriving in stores, this time to the sales staff. Last week for example, Karin gave an in-depth demonstration of all the features and unique sales arguments of the Hoodlamb Coats to the staff of Modehuis Blok in Amstelveen.

Other projects we are working on with the agency:

We recently joined the initiative #hallomensen as we felt like we wanted to do something for the refugees. We donated 200 t-shirts of which the revenues will go to Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland. CP113, Geiten Wollen Winkel and Nukuhiva immediately joined the initiative and sell the statement tees in their shops. If you are interested in doing so as well do let us know.

In the week of World Fair Trade Day next year on 12 May 2016 we will be organising a big True Fashion Event with a catwalk show, photography exhibition and talkshow with Safia Minney (People Tree, UK) and tailors from Bangladesh. You can already mark that in your calendars! Right now we are teaming up with creatives via a fashion competition through which photographers and concept makers can win a budget to produce the catwalk show and exhibition and help us spread the inspiring stories behind fashion.

We’re looking forward to seeing you soon with the new WunderWerk and People Tree collections!

Lots of Love,

The Charlie+Mary Team
