A DAY IN EINDHOVEN

When in Eindhoven we like to spend our day around Strijp-S: the cultural and creative heart of this ‘design’ city! The rough and industrial district of Strijp-S is pretty inspiring, also because this is where you can find Eindhoven’s most cool companies and shops. Here’s a selection.

Fair shopping

Urban shopper is home to 20 unique stores and is located in one of Philip’s old factory halls. The shops sell almost everything: from industrial furniture to designer brands and vintage. Make sure to visit our favourites: Koos 72 and Daily Poetry. Koos 72 is a fair fashion shop with labels such as L’Herbe Rouge and People tree. At their ‘neighbour’ Daily Poetry you’ll find gifts and items for in and around the house, all come with a beautiful story.

  • ‘Onder de Leidingstraat’ (Leidingstraat 45): a mini bio supermercado, delicious organic soups, sandwiches, cakes, juices and salads. Nuff said.
  • Falafel Masters‘ (Edisonstraat 131-133): in need of a healthy and vegetarian lunch or meal on the go? The fellas at Falafel Masters know how to please your falafal senses. Ditch the garlic sauce and your 3 PM appointment won’t notice you stopped by this exotic gem.
  • Pastryclub‘ (Ketelhuisplein 7-9): Jurgen and Richard offer the very best ‘sweet design’ you can imagine. Think sweet and savory pastry, ice-cream, cakes, desserts and everything you simply can’t refuse. They only use topnotch and mainly organic ingredients in order to offer the ‘ultimate pastry experience’. Oh dear…

When to visit?

We totally recommend to visit on the third Sunday of the month, when the Feelgood market is on. The Feelgood market offers fashion, art, design, vintage and organic food. Oh: or plan your visit from 17 – 25 October, during Dutch Design Week. At DDW you can see how tomorrow’s world is already taking shape. Expect smart solutions and innovative designs, all in the city of Eindhoven.
